Good Food Bag Program Policies

Seattle Tilth Produce Logo

The Good Food Bag (GFB) program is an innovative weekly produce subscription that improves access to fresh produce for families in Seattle and South King County with limited financial resources or inadequate access to fresh food.

Payment

Payment methods depend upon arrangements we make with each host site. It is important that every bag ordered is paid for using one of these methods to ensure the sustainability of the program: monthly check sent or given to a site coordinator, automated payment on the website Farmigo, or automated payment using EBT/SNAP. Any EBT members missing two payments without notifying Seattle Tilth staff ahead of time will have their deliveries held.

Pick Up

Delivery of Good Food Bags occurs at the host site on a designated time and day. It is your responsibility to go to the pick-up location to claim your bag. Please only take the bag or bags with your name on them. Any unclaimed food may be donated by Seattle Tilth or the host site to a local food bank. No refunds will be made if you fail to pick-up your Good Food Bag.

Canceling Membership

We hope that this program will be beneficial to you and your community. If you wish to cancel your membership at any time, please contact jessicabitting@seattletilth.org. We would also love to hear from you about why you chose to cancel and how we can improve the program to better suit your needs.

If you prepaid for your bags, we ask that you finish receiving bags through the time that you have paid for. However, we understand that special circumstances may occur, so please contact us about alternative arrangements. If you are paying automatically through Farmigo or using EBT, you may cancel at any time and you will stop being charged for your bags.

Vacation

If you will be out of town and unable to pick up your Good Food Bag, and unable to have a friend pick up your bag, please let us know as far in advance as possible. With most payment plans, at least a month’s notice is required. Please check with us or your site coordinator if you have any questions.

Communication

In every bag we include an information sheet that has nutrition information, kitchen tips, and recipes using items in the bag. Please read this to take full advantage of your Good Food Bag! We may also include other notices or important information in the bag or stapled to the outside. We may also communicate with you using the phone number or email address you provided to us upon signing up in order to keep the program functioning well.

Customer Satisfaction

The Good Food Bag program is meant to make it easier for you to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Your satisfaction is the most important part of this! Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help make this work best for you and your community. We want to hear your ideas, feedback, share your recipes and build a strong and healthy community around Good Food Bags. Thank you for participating!

Other Information

During the growing season, all produce will come from local farmers through the Seattle Tilth Food Hub. During the off-season winter months, we source from Organically Grown Company to ensure that you receive a variety of produce.
