Tilth Alliance CSA Program & Policies

What happens when I go on vacation? (Summer shares only)
If you are out of town during your vegetable share pick-up time, please notify us at least a week in advance. We can a) skip the delivery for you and add a credit to your account, to be used in the farm store or b) donate your produce to a local food bank. A maximum of three skipped weeks  are allowed per season.

Payments
Sign up and payment is managed through Farmigo.

EBT/SNAP Payment
We're working to make our farmers' produce as accessible to the community as we can. We do accept EBT at select locations, but ask that you commit to sending in pre-filled EBT/SNAP vouchers for the season that we will use to deduct payments for your CSA each month. We will send you the vouchers and more instructions.

Alternatively, you may also coordinate with Tilth Alliance Produce staff to pay using your EBT/SNAP card twice during the month at a Tilth Alliance office in Rainier Valley or Wallingford, or pick up your share and pay at a farmer's market.

Any EBT members missing two payments without letting us know will have their deliveries held.

What if I miss my pick up?

CSA boxes that aren't picked-up by the end of pick-up times will be donated to a local food bank or to the pick-up site host.

When can I make additions to my order?
You can order weekly add-ons, bulk items, or other products from our Farm Store between Saturday and Monday night the week of your box pick-up.

Pick-up Location Changes
You can change your pick-up location up to 5 days before your pick-up day. Since our harvest involves so many farmers, we have capped the number of shares available at each pick-up location, so some pick-up locations may not be available. We appreciate you sticking with one pick-up location for the year!

Customer Satisfaction
We want you to love your box! That said, we are dealing with fresh produce and occasional issues will arise. If anything isn't up to your standards, please email your feedback to csa@tilthalliance.org and we will work to resolve the issue with you. Please include a photo and description of the issue whenever possible. We will relay any quality feedback to our partner farmers to help improve on-farm practices.

Cancellation
We hope you will be happy with your share, and if there are any problems, that we can work with you to correct them! Part of the CSA model is a full-season 20 week commitment from our members to support the farmers, and we try to avoid cancellations to maintain that support throughout the season.

Should you need to cancel, please contact us at csa@tilthalliance.org. Shares that were paid for in full will be charged a 20% cancellation fee for the value of the remaining weeks being refunded. For members on monthly payment plans, we will assess a refund minus a 10-20% cancellation fee based on what has already been paid and what remains on the payment plan. Farm Store credits are not available for refund.

Communication
By signing up for the CSA, members consent to receive email communications from Tilth Alliance. Members can expect to receive a weekly newsletter, Tilth Alliance event information and occaisonal transactional requests. Please add "csa@tilthalliance.org" to your safe senders list to ensure that all communications make it to your inbox.

Please notify us if you do not receive an e-mail receipt of your payments or your weekly CSA newsletter.

All our customer information is kept confidential. We do not release any personal information to anyone. We do not sell or make our email addresses or mailing list available to any other parties or companies. The Farmigo web site is a secure site where your personal and payment information will be safe.

Workshares

By joining as a workshare member, you are committing to follow through on your hours for the season and supporting our farmers, Tilth Alliance and your CSA. Tilth Alliance reserves the right to cancel your share if the workshare agreement is not met. Read more and contact us if you're interested in being part of the team!

What else should I know?

Please return your empty box to us every week to help reduce waste! Alternatively, we encourage you to use re-useable bags and leave the box with us.

By purchasing the CSA and supporting the program, you help Tilth Alliance Farm Works participants grow their farm businesses. While we strive to pack boxes that only contain the freshest, highest-quality produce, occasionally inconsistencies arise.

Due to seasonal changes and natural risks inherent in farming, not all crops may be available as planned. CSA members understand that and choose to share in the abundant harvests as well as the risks throughout the season.
