Tilth Garden Planning Open House

Help plan improvements for Seattle Tilth's Wallingford teaching gardens.

Join us for a fun event where we will showcase the current planning work being done to enhance Seattle Tilth's teaching gardens. You will learn about new design elements and improvements planned for our teaching gardens and have an opportunity to share your ideas and inspirations. We will kick off the evening with a brief reception where you can meet Tilth staff, Board, members, volunteers, neighbors and community partners. We will present highlights of our future plans for the gardens which include both past and present design work. You will have the opportunity to give feedback on specific elements and there will be professional designers on hand to answer questions and create concept drawings using your input and ideas. You won't want to miss this fun garden planning event open to the public!

Interpretation or translation services are available for this program by advance arrangement.

Background: Tilth's Wallingford teaching gardens are undergoing a community planning process for garden enhancements supported by Seattle’s Neighborhood Matching Funds Grant. Tilth's Urban Agriculture Center has been in use since 1978 and the Children’s Garden has operated since 1988. Elements under consideration will include covered gathering areas, improved storage, signs, paths, raised beds and other elements to improve the educational function of these popular teaching spaces. University of Washington's Design Build Studio will construct some improvements in Spring 2008.
