Volunteers are essential to the success of Seattle Tilth.
If you are interested in being a long-term volunteer with us please complete an online volunteer application.
Once you have submitted an online volunteer application, please attend a Volunteer Orientation. Here you will have all your questions answered, learn about volunteer opportunities in our various programs and events, and meet with a representative from the program of your choice.
Current Volunteer Positions:
- Coop Tour Volunteer
Be an ambassador for Seattle Tilth and make sure the Coop Tour runs smoothly. - Class Assistant
Help with a series of container gardening classes that will take place at downtown parks this summer. - Children's Garden Naturalists (ie Rock Star volunteers)
Get your hands in the dirt and volunteer to lead tours in the Children's Garden! Taste the sweet and nibbly, feel the soft and prickly - teach kids to learn with all their senses. No gardening or teaching experience necessary, just enthusiasm, a sense of humor and a desire to work with kids. - Harvest Fair Coordinators
Seattle Tilth's largest community outreach event is just around the corner and this is your chance to take ownership in making it another excellent experience for the community. Work with Seattle Tilth staff to recruit and organize: farmers selling organic produce at the fair, non-profits promoting their work and activities, and volunteers to support the event. Work with Seattle Tilth in our three teaching gardens in Seattle's Wallingford and Mt Baker neighborhoods, and at the City of Issaquah's Pickering Barn site. Learn and practice organic gardening techniques, maintain the gardens infrastructure, or learn about and practice sustainable landscape management. - Outreach Volunteer
If you love Seattle Tilth and enjoy talking with the public, consider joining our outreach team. Outreach volunteers go to diverse community events and talk to people about getting involved with Seattle Tilth. Events are usually weekends or evenings.
