Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • Monthly Youth Service Learning Work Parties at RBUFW
Earn service learning hours at Seattle's largest urban farm! Join Tilth Alliance's Youth Education team to gain knowledge and skills in pruning, mulching, weeding, planting, farming, and more. Open to youth in high school or middle school. Work parties run regularly 10 a.m.-2 p.m. the second Saturday of every month beginning in January 2019.

  • Soil & Water Stewardship Training
Our Soil and Water Stewardship program offers a comprehensive, nine-month training in sustainable food production and natural resource conservation for King County residents. Apply what you learn in your own community through hands-on projects like building garden beds, installing rain gardens and creating habitat for wildlife and pollinators.
Let's make good food from local farmers more accessible in the community! Volunteers help pack Good Food Bags — weekly bags of sustainable, fresh produce, sourced from farmers during the season. Bags go to preschoolers, seniors through Meals on Wheels, and subscribers who might not otherwise have access to fresh produce.
Our program has expanded and we expect to pack around 800 Good Food Bags each week! We need lots of help to make this happen! Volunteer shifts are on Tuesdays, 3-5pm and Wednesdays, 10am-noon and noon-2pm. All packing parties are held at the Tilth Alliance Food Hub, 5131 S. Director St., Seattle, WA 98118. Check the schedule and sign up!
