Hot Tips for Shopping at the March Edible Plant Sale

Take a look at some helpful information for maximizing your enjoyment at the sale.

  • Bring Carriers
Wagons, boxes, plant flats and friends are all helpful ways to help you carry your plants. We will also be selling plastic plant trays or "flats" at the "Buy a Flat" station near the entry for $1.

  • Pick-up a Wristband in the Morning
A staggered entry system will allow the maximum number of people to enter the sale and keep the entrance flowing smoothly during the busiest times. Beginning at 8 a.m., you can get an appointed time of entry when you pick up a color-coded wristband once you enter the farm at the Wristband Tent. This will allow you to enjoy the activities in the lower field outside of the sale without needing to wait in line. Busiest times are usually 9- 11:30 a.m.

  • Travel Smart.

The March Edible Plant Sale is at Orca K-8 School. The address for the school is 5215 46th Ave S. The sale will take place on the West side of the school property under the large white tent that we have set up. There are two ways to enter the sale: North Entrance (45th & Dawson) or South Entrance (45th and Bennett). There is no driving inside the sale grounds. There are, however, loading zones at either entrance for easy pick-up.

  • Parking
Parking is in the surrounding neighborhood. Please be kind to the neighbors, be cognizant of legal parking spots and driveways.

  • Handicap Access
On Saturday, there will be a few open spaces available in the school's parking lot at the east side of the building (front of the building).

  • Leave the Pooches Home
Because of the high volume of people at the event, dogs and other animals are not allowed in the sale.
  • Learn More
Look for plant info on signs, or ask a plant seller. If you have any questions, ask the Garden Hotline garden educators at the Tilth Alliance booth!

  • Stock Up and Fuel Up
Buy a copy of our new book Your Farm in the City or the Maritime NW Garden Guide, seeds, supplies and more at the Tilth Alliance booth.
