Marketing your Farm at Market

  • Explains the art and science of selling your farm products at market. All aspects of display will be covered in depth- from sightlines to composition to color patterns to layout and psychology. Slides will be provided showing farmer displays from all over the state, both beautiful and not, with profiles of some of WA state’s best market farmers.

  • Markets Because of their low margins for booth space, selling directly at Farmers Markets provide many farms the highest monetary return for their products. But if a farmer isn’t careful, the difference between farmers market margins and wholesale margins can get eaten up by all kinds of additional expenses: staffing, transportation, insurance, more staffing, accidents, and stress! Like marketing, there is both art and science to the economics and logistics of selling at markets, esp. if your farm sells at multiple markets.
