Garden Crew Volunteers

We are looking for both beginning and intermediate gardeners to join our 2007 garden crew.

ManPlanting380Garden Crew volunteers work alongside Tilth gardeners at our two demonstration gardens, the Good Shepherd Center Garden, and Bradner Gardens Park. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking to learn about and practice organic gardening techniques. Crewmembers commit to a total of six, 3-hr long work party shifts for (18 hours). Each work party will focus on one main educational concept and additional garden activities will be included as necessary. Sign up and join the fun!

Early Season Garden Crew will run from April through June, 2009.  Garden techniques you will learn and practice include: seed starting indoors and outdoors, bed preparation, fertilizing, composting and transplanting. Volunteers can also sign up for shifts at our Edible Plant Sale (May 3 and 4) as part of their service. Get Early Season Schedule here.

FULL! Late Season Garden Crew will run from July through October. Garden techniques you will learn and practice include: fall and winter gardening, pruning, harvesting, sowing cover crops and fall soil building. Volunteers can also sign up for shifts at our Harvest Fair (September 6) as part of their service. Download the 2008 Late Crew Workparty schedule here.
